It wouldn't be right for us to tell you that any particular color is good or bad. After all, it's your home, not ours. However, there are always trending colors and themes that many homeowners will choose to follow. We always bring a color swatch with us on estimates and will gladly show you some of these colors. You can also find plenty of ideas with a simple online search.
Both Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore offer free color visualizer tools online. These help you see what a certain color would like in your home. (We will link these tools below.)
Sheen is simply a measure of the glossiness of a paint once it has dried. There are typically five different sheens: Flat, Eggshell, Satin, Semi-gloss, and Gloss. The glossier the paint, the easier it is to clean. However, you don't necessarily want your surface to shine. For example, bedrooms are typically painted with a flat or eggshell finish, as these walls are in low traffic areas and don't necessarily need to be cleaned regularly. Bathrooms and kitchens, however, are usually expected to be high-moisture areas, and would be better off with a semi-gloss finish.
